Hand-Over Ceremony for U.S.-Donated Porta-Clinics to the Lesotho Defence Force
The Lesotho Defence Force Public Affairs Office jointly with the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs wishes to inform the public that on Friday, January 25, 2008, U.S. Ambassador to Lesotho Mr. Robert B. Nolan will formally hand-over a wellness center to the Makoanyane Military Hospital (MMH).
The construction of the centers valued at over one million Maloti, was funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (DHAPP)
This donation has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Lesotho’s Ministry of Defense and National Security; the U.S. Embassy; the U.S. Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California; and the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa.
The Occasion will be graced by the presence of the Honorable Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Motloheloa Phooko, the Principal Secretary to the Minister of Defense and National Security Mrs. M.S Lebesa, the Commander Lieutenant General Thuso Motanyane, senior LDF Officers, and U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Embassy Officials.
