U. S. Ambassador to donate clothes to Scott Hospital
On April 11, 2007, Ambassador Perry will visit the Lesotho Evangelical Church Hospital in Morija, popularly known as Scott Hospital. She is paying a special visit to this Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL) hospital to donate clothing to adult inpatients.
Three, Ambassador’s Girls’ Scholarship Program (AGSP), recipients attending school at Morija Girls’ School will also be present at the event to receive their gifts from Her Excellency.
Since her arrival in Lesotho, Ambassador June Carter Perry has in many ways shown interest in supporting the neediest of the needy. One such way has been with private donations of clothing to babies at orphanages, Ambassador’s Girls’ Scholarship Program (AGSP) supported school age girls and adults of all ages. Since 2005, she has given donations to the following: The Disabled Group in Pitseng, the Beautiful Gate orphanage, AGSP recipients from several schools in Lesotho and plans more donations to ‘Mamohau Hospital in Leribe and the Baylor Children’s Hospital in Maseru. As in the past, the Ambassador will be donating clothes, ASGP scholarship books and gifts from international organizations that she has forged links and affiliates with and have provided some of these materials. One of them is the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Inc., the Greater Lansing Area Youth Club, the Riverside Club of New Jersey & New Rochelle Club of New York. Former and current employees of the U.S. Embassy also heartily support her endeavors.
